What is Shop for Me?
Shop for Me is a free service that lets you order groceries and supplies from the Belfast Community Co-op online whether or not you are an owner of the Co-op and pick up your order curbside or in the store. It’s an online version of our market! Simply place your grocery order online through our Shop for Me page and one of our Co-op workers will shop the store for you and pack up your groceries for pick-up. Online ordering through Shop for Me is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Orders can be placed anytime, from anywhere. When you place your order, you may choose your pick up time between 10 am-4 pm daily. If you miss your chosen pick-up time, please arrive by 4 pm at the latest. If you need to speak with someone in Shop for Me, we are available 8am-4pm daily. Call us at 207-338-2532 and press option 3. Or email us at shopforme@belfast.coop. Buy groceries from your local Co-op from the comfort of your own home! Please note: Shop for Me is a free service open to everyone, but you must agree to the terms of use. We may not be able to accommodate same-day service. All products are subject to availability. Restrictions apply to the purchase of alcohol.

ACCOUNTS
Do I have to be a Co-op Owner to use Shop for Me?
No, you do not need to be an Owner or hold an account to use this service. You can check out as a guest and enter your information at checkout.
How do I create an account?
If you are an Owner, create an account to link your owner number to your Shop for Me login by following these instructions. Logging into through your owner account gives you access to Owner Rewards and Owner coupons.
If you are not a Belfast Community Co-op Owner, you can still use Shop For Me! Simply check out as a guest.
What is the benefit of being an Owner and creating a linked account?
Creating an account links your Ownership information to Shop for Me. This makes it possible for you to easily edit and change your orders, securely save your card for faster checkout, and view prior in-store and online transactions. You also earn Owner Rewards points when you shop and have access to any available owner coupons. For more details on benefits, please visit our Owner Login and Benefits page.
Note: you can only create an account if you’re a Belfast Community Co-op Owner. If you’re not an Owner but would like to become one, please start the sign-up process at belfast.coop/become-an-owner or give us a call at 207-338-2532.
ORDERING ONLINE
Is there a limit to how many items per Shop for Me Order?
No, there is no limit.
How long will my order take?
Processing time varies depending on volume and demand. Pick-up timeslots may be available as soon as two hours after order. You will receive a phone call when your order is ready to be picked up.
Can I edit an order once it’s been submitted?
Yes, if you are ordering through an Owner account and the staff has not prepared your order yet. However, please note that you may lose your time slot if you pull your order to edit it and take more than 60 minutes to complete your edit.
What if I don’t have access to the internet?
Ordering online is the best way to use our Shop for Me, and orders can be placed on any computer, tablet or smart phone. If you do not have access to the internet, give us a call at 207-338-2532 and ask for Shop for Me and we will be happy to take the order by phone.
Depending on order volume, we may not be able to accommodate same-day orders when placed by phone. The Shop for Me clerk will call back when the order is ready for payment and pick up.
What do I do if there is something wrong with my order once I receive it?
Please call and ask to speak with Shop for Me. We want your experience to be a good one and we will try to make things right for you.
PRODUCTS
What do I do if I can’t find an item I know you carry?
We’re adding items all the time. If you can’t find something, simply note that item in the “Order Notes” field in Step 1 of the check out process. You can also ask us about it when we call you to review your order. If we have the item in-stock, we can add it to the order.
How do I tell you that I do/do not want you to make substitutions if the product I asked for is not available?
During the check-out process, there is an opportunity to indicate for which items you are comfortable with substitutions. We will always confirm any substitutions with you when we call.
If an item is on the website, is it guaranteed that it is in stock?
Our online store shows products which are usually on the shelves. However, stock levels are always changing and it is not guaranteed that the item on the website is in stock. This is a great reason to use the substitutions checkbox or add notes to your shopping list.
Can I buy wine and beer with Shop for Me?
Yes, beer and wine are available to purchase. We follow all state laws and guidelines, and it is a violation of Maine alcohol laws for anyone under age 21 to buy, or attempt to buy, alcohol. A staff person will verify age upon delivering to your vehicle.
What do the symbols on some of the Shop for Me items mean?
The symbols are to indicate things like Gluten-Free, Vegan, MOFGA certified, and more.
Are the prices online guaranteed?
The price you pay is what the product costs the day your order is processed. Some prices can change, especially for fresh foods such as produce, meat and seafood, but changes are generally minimal. Note that if an item is one sale and the sale ends before your pickup date, the non-sale price will be charged.
PAYMENT
How do I pay for my Shop for Me order?
You can securely pay with a credit card or debit card online at checkout. Owners/ Account holders may safely save their cards for future purchases. You may also opt to pay by phone.
Can I use a gift card to pay for my order?
Yes, but we will need to process the gift card by phone. Please select “Pay by Phone” at checkout. When your order is complete, we will give you a call and collect the gift card information at that time. If there is a remaining amount due, you may pay the balance with a credit or debit card by phone as well.
Can I use EBT with Shop for Me?
Yes, you may select “Pay at Pickup (EBT)” when you finalize your order. When you arrive for pickup, please come in and finalize the order at the register, inside the store. There is currently no way to process EBT online, but it is coming soon!
PICKUP
What do I do when I arrive for pickup?
Please park in the parking spots with the “Reserved for Shop for Me” signs. Once you have parked, please give us a call to let us know you’ve arrived at 207-338-2532. If you do not have a cellphone, please come to the customer service desk inside.
What if I can't pick up my order on the day I chose?
If you know you will not be able to pick up your order on the day you chose, please give us a call to let us know. In most cases, we are able to hold your order for 24 hours past your chosen pickup date and time. If you do not arrive to pick up your order on the day you chose and we do not hear from you, the product will be put back on the shelf the following morning and any payment made will be refunded.
