This is both an exciting and challenging time to be involved with the Co-op. Although COVID- 19 has had a large impact on our Co-op, our financial situation is stable and we remain a critical anchor for the downtown Belfast business community, and a strong support for local providers of food and other goods. A key focus for future directors is likely to be a potential expansion of the Co-op, as the Board has authorized the General Manager to explore the feasibility of expansion options.

The Board of Directors plays a critical role in ensuring the continued success of the Co-op by setting the standards and policies for the Co-op’s performance and promoting the Co-op’s values and vision. Serving on the Board is a serious commitment that is both challenging and rewarding.

This year, five seats are up for election. We hope to find candidates that reflect diverse experiences and talents, and look forward to the new ideas and perspectives they will bring to our conversations and decision-making.
