A Penobscot Sense of Place

James combines his knowledge of geography, history, geology, and his heritage to give a unique perspective of place names that are familiar on the Maine map but will provide you with a deeper sense of their meaning. James Eric Francis Sr. is a Penobscot Nation’s Director of Cultural and Historic Preservation, Tribal Historian, and Chair of the Penobscot Tribal Rights and Resource Protection Board.
